One of the best parts of being a senior is earning the right to buy a space in the back of the yearbook. This space is dedicated to YOU and can be filled with images from past and present. Ads also provide a great space for family members to leave messages for their child. Above you can see a few of the ads designed in 2015 by the yearbook staff.
Must be purchased by October 30th.
So how do you tackle this senior ad challenge?
STEP ONE: Decide on the ad size you want: (WxH) 1/8 page - 4.25x2.75, $70 1/4 page - 4.25x5.5, $130 1/2 page - 8.5x5.5, $190 full page - 8.5x11, $320
STEP TWO: Decide if you are going to make it yourself OR if you want us to design the ad:
Option 1: You make the Ad. You design the ad at the given sizes above and submit it. The ad needs to be 300 Resolution and submitted as a JPEG (no PDF option available). We do not guarantee quality of your ad as you have created it and it may not meet the specs of our programs, however if we do identify a problem we will notify you so that you can adjust it.
Option 2: We (the yearbook staff) make the ad at your requested size. You'll collect all your images and then upload them to the ad purchasing site. On the uploading site you will have the option to place all your images and any comments you might have. - If you want your ad to be laid out similar to an ad from a previous year, you can put that information in the comments. - If you want a certain photo larger than the rest, a photo cropped in a certain way, or a specific color used on the ad you can put that information in the comments. - If you have come up with an idea, but are unsure of it working or it's quality, upload it as an image and label it as what you want the final ad to look like and we will do our best to mirror it.
Option 2 provides you a digital proof. We will email you a proof of your ad once it is designed. Then you'll have the chance to make changes, comment on issues, check spelling, etc. We will go back, edit it, and finalize it based on your feedback.
STEP THREE: Pick out all of your images. We have designed lots of ads over the years and, as a result, have limited the amount of pictures you can place on an ad due to sizing. (If the pictures get too small you can't see them)! We know it's hard to narrow your choices down, but less is more here, we promise. 1/8 page - 2 or less 1/4 page - 5 or less 1/2 page - 10 or less full page - 15 or less
Legally, we cannot print copyrighted images. DO NOT submit any images with watermarks or photographer's names on them. We do not have access to your Senior photos, if you want to include any of those in the senior ad they must be uploaded with the rest of your images. Also, please be aware that images must be appropriate: no beer bottles, guns, cigarettes, etc.
STEP FOUR: Purchase your ad. Go to the ad website and buy your ad, upload all your photos, and wait patiently while the staff designs the perfect ad for you. All ads must be purchased online. If you have any problems submitting, try a different internet browser as we find that sometimes the site works better with one browser than another.
